The Arbitrary Prediction – “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” Edition

by Robert Maier
On Saturday night, two longtime MMA superstars will meet in what’s widely considered to be one of the greatest modern-day super fights in mixed martial arts.  Dan Henderson, the reigning Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion, will venture one division up and meet former PRIDE champion Fedor Emelianenko in a three-round clash that caps off a stacked card of high-profile match-ups which also includes a women’s welterweight title fight between champion Marloes Coenen and challenger Meisha Tate.  Helping to fill out the main card is a middleweight match-up between notable veterans …

Check out this video of Rampage Jackson and Jon Jones duking it out in UFC Undisputed 3

by Robert Maier
I come back home from a quick dip in a pool that I don’t own nor have any right to swim in only to see that some dude from the Underground posted an apparently “leaked” video of some UFC Undisputed 3 gameplay — featuring UFC 135 headliners Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Jon “Bones” Jones.  As expected, the gameplay looks very smooth, featuring some very nice transition animations and other notable improvements over the first two releases that you can see for yourself in the below video.  Check it …

Oh man! – Katsunori Kikuno vs. Mizuto Hirota at DEEP 55 on August 26th

Yesterday was my birthday — and a horrible one at that.  Yeah, I got some money, and some other cool stuff like a new Chicago Cubs hat and really expensive and delicious dinner; but those few cool things couldn’t surpass the serious business that went down and ultimately drove what’s supposed to be an enjoyable day into a craptastic one.

Late Night Rant: The Alistair Overeem/ZUFFA Edition

by Robert Maier
Alistair Overeem’s out of the Strikeforce World Heavyweight Grand Prix, and if you’re an MMA fan, you’ve already known for a few hours.
How do you feel right now?  Angry, frustrated, annoyed, relieved (how could you be?), or maybe even proud because you knew this would happen all along.  Regardless of what’s going through your head as you read this, I think we can all agree on one mutual belief – this is lame.
Lame as hell.  I’m not going to delve into this too much, considering that this tournament …

An Iron Forges Iron Exclusive Interview with MFC President Mark Pavelich

Maximum Fighting Championship President Mark Pavelich isn’t your average MMA promoter. He doesn’t love the sport, and rarely does he even watch it. Instead, he lives, breathes, eats, and sleeps the company he’s built from the ground up and maintained for well over a decade.

Chael Sonnen Still Isn’t Sure If He’ll Use His Trash-Talking Antics in His Upcoming UFC 136 Clash With War Veteran Brian Stann

When this fight was first announced, that’s the question I immediately asked myself — will Chael build up his fight with Stann in the same way he did with Anderson Silva?

Videos: Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo – Teh Early Years

Chances are that if you were an aspiring fighter growing up in the mean streets of Brazil during the early days of MMA, you knew, respected, and feared the name Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo.

Chael Sonnen: That “bum” Lyoto Machida is an “easy fight”

by Robert Maier
No rest for the weary.
Just a shade over a week since his suspension was lifted, UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen has resumed his verbal tirade, this time taking it to his upcoming UFC 136 opponent Lyoto Machida. Sonnen, who will venture back up to the light-heavyweight division for the October 8th fight, has proclaimed that Machida is simply a “tune up” fight for him as he transitions down to the middleweight division for a second crack at reigning kingpin Anderson Silva. Check out what Sonnen told the MMA Fight Corner …
